gtk+1.2 libtool compile error

  I'm trying to compile gtk+1.2 with glib 1.20.  I got the following error:

Here is my config:
system: Ultra 30 128 MB RAM 
OS: Solaris 2.7 (64-bit mode)
compiler: gcc-2.8.1
make: gmake 3.77

Any help would be
