deactivate selection of list_items

Hello,

how to make it impossible to change list_item selections
in some states of a program?

Is gtk_widget_set_sensitive() the right way or what else?
My other idea would be to disconnect "selection_changed" but this
didn't worked for me.  How to do that right?
