Error with ORBit libs

I just downloaded the recent CVS of gtk, gnome, and all the other libs,
and after recompiling gnome-libs and gnome-core w/o trouble, I get the
following when I try running panel:

panel: error in loading shared libraries
/usr/local/lib/libORBitCosNaming.so.0: undefined symbol: TC_string_struct

Would someone please let me know what's going wrong?
