I'm curious about a couple of things dealing with GTK-themes:
First, how different are themes allowed to be? I noticed that all the
demonstration themes shipped with gtk-themes seem to be basically the same
as vanilla GTK+ with minor modifications. Would it be possible to, for example,
write an engine which would look like OpenLook, or one which would cause
menus to appear on the top of the desktop? (a la the Macintosh) Oh, and
the specific gtk-themes I grabbed from CVS (last Friday) seems to have a
huge black box obscuring most of testgtk, so I can't try any of the options
below handlebox.. :-)
The other thing I'm wondering is when theming support will be considered
part of the "stable" GTK+. Any plans or is the answer "when it's ready"?
