gtk+-0.99.7 showstopper?

Hi,
Just to let you know that on one of our RH4.2 based Alpha's, a
./configure; make; builds a gtk library that unfortunately seems duff, ie.
testgtk segfaults immediately. As does gimp, depressingly enough....
Both built cleanly, and without intervention, though :)
