auto-resizing pixmap widget?

It shouldnt be too hard to get gdk_imlib to auto-resize
and show itself in a given area should it? But seeing
as I wrote my first gtk+ program last friday perhaps I'm
not yet quite ready ;)

Just to clarify - it'd be nice to have a fixed resolution
backbuffer which gets blitted to the screen at whatever
size the widget is scaled to.
