spinbuttons more flexible look-wise?

	Howdy. Been playing with using some spinbuttons for dialogs in the
gimp, and while I found them very useful, I was wondering if there was anyway
to perhaps make the appearence more flexible. In particular, I'm thinking
about the pane that surronds the arrows. I would like the option to turn this
pane off (or set the shadow type somehow). 
	Perhaps this is already possible, but i didnt see a way when i glanced
around the code. I kind of prefer the look of the spinbutton without any
pane drawn around it (see http://www4.ncsu.edu/~aklikins/file_new3.gif 
for an 
example). Any easy way to do that? Or for 1.1, even a hard way?
	btw, that screenshot was made by just commenting out lines 367-270
in gtkspinbutton.c.
