So what are the real advantages of the windows MDI???
I've learned to hate it, esp. VisualStudio. There
are times when it would have been nice to use the
debugger/docviewer in it's own window without having
to resize everything.
What about multimonitor systems. I don't think MDI
makes any sense there?
It might be nice to add it as an option, where you
could dock some windows into an MDI app and they
would lose their toolbar and title. But there should
be a way to undock it so that I can rip it out of
there and have two separate windows, each displaying
a menu & toolbar.
There is one Mac feature that would be nice for
non-mdi apps. Mac's have a hide app feature that
lets you hide all the windows associated with a
particular application. I suppose this is more of a
window manager feature (raster aer uyo redzign thiz?),
but it might be handy in place of iconifying a
zillion gimp windows one at a time.
