Images for textwidget background

Alright, I have figure out how to use pics as backgrounds for text
widgets, my new question is this, is it possible to make them not scroll
with the text?  Also, is it possible to have gdk_mlib adjust the image to
fit the window instead of tile it?  Thanks for your help...
