Hi,
There is a patch to make gtk+ read in any additional XCompose settings,
at
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155010
I am not sure if you want to distribute your own patched version of GTK+
(so you can apply said patch), or wish to work upstream.
