malayalam issues

Hello everybody,
  I am trying to develop a malayalam editor based on unicode fonts. Some of the characters(chillus) are not displayed correctly in Fedora Core 1. But when i used FC2 the chillus are displayed but some koottaksharams are not correctly formed. Can anyone give some info abt these problems
