I am sorry if you were offended by my language. That certainly
wasn't my intention. 

And about my "last argument", I agree that it doesn't really
explain my opinion. I would like to clarify it by saying 
that it is desirable to minimize the amount of mode changing
and the amount of characters that needs to be pressed in order to
input a character. And that is, where, imho, SI 1452, fails badly. 
With 1452 a casual Hebrew user that doesn't need Nikkud still 
need to press four keys in order to input an exclamation mark:

   [lang change] [shift] [1] [lang change]

Also, there is no support for other unicode characters other than
RLM and LRM, that I intend to add. The more characters you have to 
press, the longer and more painful is the training process.

But as you say the choice of keyboard layout is elective. And in
X it is very easy to provide different layout to suite whatever
users want. If there is a xkb map for SI-1452 available, I'll 
include a link to it.
