GTK+-1.2 supports UTF-8 locales, but only if Xlib supports UTF-8
locales. The XFree86 4.0.2 libc does not. [ Yes, xterm does,
but I'm talking about the neccesary XIM / XOM support ]
(Though I'd expect support for UTF-8 locales to be integrated into
XFree86 fairly soon.)
