Note its possible that the GTK 2.24 branch should not be introducing a dependency on a new version of GLib in 
which case bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=702455 should be reopened. And updated to remove 
the use of g_clear_pointer() from the backport.

Hi Guys,

I have been doing a bit of work the last couple of days once again sorting through the huge pile of old GTK 
bugs.
Anyway I have a couple of simple one liner patches that would be good to get reviewed and committed.

1. Some work with the printing module in GTK 2.24.20 introduced a dependency on a new version of GLib
