• G(tk)Application status
- r-t remove obligation to backport GtkApplication to gtk+ 2.22.0
- GApplication is not ready
‣ actions need more work
‣ proper review before committing to a new API
- remove from 2.25, release 2.26 (for GNOME 2.32) without
- punt it to 2.28 (December, with GTK+ 3.0)
- fall-out:
‣ some app developers will hate us
‣ libunique suggested for three more months
• missing bits for glib 2.26
- GDBus
‣ GDBusMessage.lock
‣ filter
- GObjectClass.install_properties()
• GDateTime
- comments/review from desrt
- ebassi to reply on bugzilla/irc
• rendering-cleanup
- pixmap removal to be reviewed
- GtkWidget::draw in progress
‣ more discussions on the list
- split branch at the pixmap removal for ease of review/merge
• Padding clean up
- proposals:
‣ alignment/margin in GtkWidget
‣ "magic" (propagating) expand
‣ legacy-free grid container
- branches for alignment and margin for review
- propagating expand=TRUE might have impact on existing apps
- legacy-free grid container not written yet
• lock button
- kills polkit-gtk
- makes writing preference dialogs simpler
- requires feedback from the UX team for usage guidelines
• case sensitive search in TextBuffer
- http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61852
- code from GtkSourceView
- tentatively accepted
• gdk-pixbuf ↔ cairo
- 1. cairo dependency
- 2. strictness of backward compatibility?
‣ always keep pixels from construct time?
‣ never keep pixels
‣ keep them some time (and be clever about it)
- hurry for gtk3 or is it safe to wait post-3.0?
‣ do we wait for cairo to support GdkPixbuf's format?
- possible addition pre-3.0: surface ↔ pixbuf conversion functions in gdk
