RGBA support in GDK.

Hi!
The function gdk_screen_get_rgba_visual returns NULL, it means that
the capability is not available (according to the documentation).
I make a call with the default screen.
Can anybody help me how RGBA support can be added?
Or maybe how can I set the visual as the default?
