I agree with Behdad. A GL widget may be handy for the few applications
that can use such a thing, it doesn't have a particularly strong
reason to live in gtk itself.

On the other hand, I don't want to make you too much hope for landing
any new drawing api, before the clientside window work has been
settled and landed.
