I'd like to bring up my desktop parsing API. So many programs
use desktop files, it really makes sense to get a desktop file
parser low in the library stack. The panel currently uses two
different desktop parsers, which is less than ideal. Also,
Jonathan is going to be needing a desktop parser for gnome-vfs
2.8, so getting it into glib some time in the future may be
a good idea.
It hasn't seen much testing yet (for instance legacy-mixed mode
has seen almost no testing), however, and it still needs
documentation.
It's cut-and-paste-able from libegg (libegg/desktopentries), so
if it can't make it into glib now, it's not a huge deal.
