The intention was definitely post 2.6.  The idea is that I think its
useful to have more rich date/time handling in glib for things like a
system wide timezone setting.  We're intending to clean up the icalendar
stuff as part of Evolution 2.2 and I'd eventually like to move the
date/time handling part of that down to glib once its robust and well
tested.  This would put this some time in the glib 2.8 or glib 2.10
timeframe at a guess, probably depends on how much people need it for
things other than evolution.
