Hey, I've looked around for a romanji -> kana input system for GNOME and
haven't found what I wanted.
I'm willing to write one, but I see there is a seemingly dead Japanese
input module already out there. Would I be interfering with someone's
not public work? I'd be glad to help with the kana support of such a
module, but I can't help with kanji.
I just want to be able to type in romanji and get kana, like I've seen
in another OS. My plan is just to copy another module's codebase and do
the UTF-8 conversions for each of the katakana and hiragana. My plan
would be to use uppercase to denote katakana, otherwise use the same
algorithm. Anyone care to point me to something helpful or tell me
something I missed?
cheers,
Terry
