MappingNotify events with window == 0

Good day,
Immediately after xmodmap is run, all Gdk/Gtk+ programs spit out a bunch
of Gdk warnings about receiving an event with zero target window. The
event in question is a MappingNotify event, and the window id is indeed
zero. Hoever, IIRC this is the standard (common?) behavior and Gdk should
not complain. Am I wrong?
(This is all about Gdk-1.2.3)
