reading events from USB

Hi All,

I am reading input events from a USB device. I want to map these events
to a mouse click event or
a key press event, so that it can be recognized by a GTK application
running on the same server.
Can I simulate the keyboard/mouse events to the kernel?

Is there any way to implement this?
