Hi,

first I think this tutorial is absolutely great and needed for a long time.

I'm by no means a professional when it comes to english and it's not my 
native language but from reading many tutorials and documentations I 
find one things which maybe could be improved. You're using "check out" 
a few times which for me sounds like "yo, check this out"; usually 
documents refer with "see this and that there". But this may be only me 
:) In the references you're talking about (gtk, gtk+, certain widgets 
etc.) I think it would be a good idea to actually also put the urls 
right into the text.
