Essentially, gtk_control_center_present() creates one instance of main

look like

gtk_control_center_present ();
create_a_file_chooser ();
run_main_loop ();

What's wrong with this?
Nothing's wrong with this.
I was under the impression that it would wait to run main_loop until
the file chooser was dismissed, either by canceling or choosing a file.
So I didn't think the file chooser would communicate with the main
program if a file was chosen. But I was wrong. I just tried what you
said, and it works fine.
Thanks for he help.
