GTK accessibility on win32

Does anyone have any pointers on accessibility questions using gtk on win32?

I have a blind student using my gtk-based software on XP in one of my classes. He has JAWS configured to read menus and so on for his native Windows software, but the gtk app is silent: its menus are not being read. I'm wondering if there's some way to tap into atk's capabilities to communicate with JAWS.

Any help appreciated.
