The selected item in the optionmenu becomes its label. Once you have
selected a new item, its label is reparented to the optionmenu --
therefore, it will always display the currently selected item's label.

It's bad UI, but if you must, just add a dummy item to the optionmenu
and ensure it's the first (or that it's selected).
