Absolute of relative coordinates?

Hello,
for the API 'gdk_window_begin_paint_region(GdkWindow*,
GdkRegion*)', is the second parameter according to
absolute(from the root of the display) or
relative(from the origin of the frame) coordinates? I
was unable to figure this out from the documentation.
