try using gtk_widget_queue_draw ()

inside the loop.i think if it needs to get refreshed
cpu control has to goto gtk_main() insted of looping
in the callback.anyhow try gtk_widget_queue_draw.i
think u better  refer scrible code once it will be
helpful for u.
