problems with X11-Forwarding of GTK+2 apps

Hi List,

I write this mail because I have some problems with X11-Forwarding over 
SSH and GTK+2 applications. Some apps like Xchat 2.0.9, Gimp 2.2, Pan 
0.14.2 are crashing with the following error-message:

The program 'pan' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 2775 error_code 3 request_code 38 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() 
function.)

I've no idea about this error... I'm sure you have got other fish to 
fry, but nobody can help me with this problem and with google I found 
also nothing about my problem. I think you're my last chance, I would be 
very lucky if you can help me.
