gtk_paint_box failed ??

i am trying to give a box look for a drawable. 
is    gtk_paint_box is appropriate one. it is giving 
"file gtkstyle.c: line 3183 (gtk_default_draw_box):
assertion `window != NULL' failed".

can anybody tell me whts the problem with the
parameters passed below.  da is drawable.it is already
exists.
