Hello,

look if you installed the pkgconfig -> [user linux]$ > pkg-config --cflags gtk+-2.0

If you installed, you should compiler with -> [user linux]$ > gcc -o file.c `pkg-config --cflags 
gtk+-2.0``pkg-config --libs gtk+-2.0`

On http://www.gtk.org you can find some information about installing & dependencies & using gtk (look at the 
tutorial)
