Hi,

Just a quick question :) Is it possible to create a gtk application which uses anti-aliased fonts (using xft)? If so can this be accomplished with gtk v1.2 or does it need gtk v2?

Xft is a GTK+ 2 feature. We're gradually making it harder _not_
to use Xft (though antialiasing can be configured):

GTK+-2.0 uses Xft if you set GDK_USE_XFT=1
GTK+-2.2 uses Xft unless you set GDK_USE_XFT=0
GTK+-2.4 will require and always use Xft
