I'm using the standard Gtk+-2.0 that comes with RedHat 8.0:

gtk2-2.0.6-8
gtk2-devel-2.0.6-8

This was apparently built on Mon 26 Aug 2002 22:59:17 BST

What was the old behaviour (so I know how to handle it in my app) and is
there anyway I can #ifdef this or whatever so it builds correctly on
both RedHat 8.0 and 8.1 machines?
