You should use pango, read the FAQ came with GTK document,there is an
example over there.

Hi !

I upgrade my application from GTK1.2 to GTK2.2;
during compilation I saw that gdk_draw_text is no more supported.

What do we must use instead of   gdk_draw_text? 
 in the docs/refrence/gdk, it is just mentionned that this function is 
deprecated, but do not recommend the new one.

where could I find the list all the new functions replacing the
deprecated 
one? (the reference mentionned some of them, but  is  not complete )
