Changing Menu & Toolbar Fonts In Abiword

Some context: I use Gentoo with XFree86 and the WM, Fluxbox. I recently 
installed Abiword and noticed that the font size on the toolbars and 
menus was inappropriately small. I'd had a similar problem with Mozilla 
1.4 and was able to resolve the matter by editing userChrome.css. 
Writing the Abiword mailing list asking for the name of a file of theirs 
to edit, I'm told that Abiword depends on gtk settings and to raise the 
question here.

I know that by editing ~/.xinitrc it's possible to change these setting 
in a general way for the WM and for all applications, but I'm happy with 
the appearance of what I've got now and would rather not recreate the 
whole works for sake of improving Abiword. If it's possible to do so, 
how do I go about making font size changes for Abiword's toolbars and 
menus without changing everthing else at the same time?
