Problem with pango_layout_set_text...

Hi, all

While I am putting a string on a pango layout through pango_layout_set_text, 
I can only see the truncated string in display. For example, "1.tar.gz" will 
be displayed as "1.", and the call to pango_layout_get_line_count returns 3 
lines. "1-tar-gz" will give the same effect. But there is no problem to show 
a normal string without any "." or "-"...
What is wrong with it? Any tricks here?
