X clipboard

Hello,

   I'm looking for documentation on supporting the X clipboard (simple 
left button select, middle button past of text) in a gtk app.  Anyone 
know where I should look?  I'm not even sure if it's possible given my 
programs crappy design, but it would certainly be nice.
