Judging by the phrasing of your question, I'm going to assume you are
fairly new to linux, and perhaps also to programming. I'm assuming
you're using Redhat 9.0, and want to write a web-browser.

Although I am not one to discourage people from starting fun projects, I
question your appreciation for the difficulty in writing a web-browser.
If you would like to contribute to a web-browser project on linux, I
suggest you check out http://www.mozilla.org, and
http://www.konqueror.org, two excellent open-source browsers for linux.
If you would like to create your own simple web-browser, look at the
documentation for the GtkHtml widget.

If, however, you were just looking for a fun project to learn Gtk
programming on linux, well, good luck.
