Changing color of toggle button, when toggled in gtk

Hi Everybody,

        I am new to gtk-development and facing
problem while changing the button color , when the
button is toggled. I want to make the background color
of the button so darker that it shows toggled state is
active.
        So how can I change the background color for 
toggled button, wheb it is toggled.
