TreeView and setting row colors

Hi,

I need to set particular color for rows in GtkTreeView.
I would like to change the background color, or text color.
AFAIR there was some similar question on this list. but I haven't found
any resolution.
BTW, GtkCList is enough for me, and has the possibility to set
background color per row, but it is marked as deprecated.
How long CList will be supported in GTK+ - months or years?
