Off-topic, Glibc

Hi,

Has anyone had experience upgrading from glibc2.1 to glibc2.2? I've been 
up and down the gnu site and it seems like the big issue was going from 
libc5 to libc6 (2.0). I need to upgrade a system here because of 
floating point bug fixes but I don't want to loose everything else. 
Would I have to recompile the other system binaries?
