Conversion from GDkDrawable to GdkPixmap and GdkBitmap?

Dear all,
I have drawn something (text )into a gtk_drawing_area.
The question is how can I extract the thing in gtk_drawing_area to
GdkPixmap and GdkBitmap, so that we can attach the pixmap to GtkClist...
Is it possible?
Any comment is appreicate.
