I have a menu which can have any number of items contained in it. What I would like it to do is simular to how Netscape's (pre version 6) bookmark menu worked, where when the menu hit the bottom of the screen, it would have a cascade to see the more of the menu. Can anyone give me an idea on how to do this?
You probably do not want to do that. Cascading menus like that become very difficult to use when they contain far too many items or when they are too close to the right side of the screen (I used to have this problem with my bookmarks). The problem is that the menus start to "bunch up" on the right side of the screen so that it becomes virtually impossible to select the intended cascaded menu. There are tricks to make it easier, but they still fail. If you are going to have that many menu items, I would suggest either using a different widget (like a list with a scrollbar) or if you must use a menu, make the menu scroll vertically rather than cascade. -- The good Christian should beware of mathematicians....
