Never mind me, I'm just on crack (and too tired). I was trying to use 
the render functions to copy between pixbufs. (The code to actually 
display stuff works fine. At the moment the only case I'm not handling 
correctly is the case where the source is larger than the destination 
and the user specified to center the image, no scaling).
