Ok, I changed the bottom filter and now I'm seeing the avi file in the browser. Thank you!

However, I think I hadn't anything else than all or all files, and I couldn't see the video... weird...

version is 1.8.3

gthumb can reproduce the video (running gthumb video.avi), but video.avi isn't shown in the browser

if gThumb can reproduce the video gtksink is working correctly, maybe you need to change the browser filter to include videos as well.
