[gthumb-list] freeze if launched from remote

When I launch gthumb from remote it freezes almost instantly
I execute
ssh -X remoteserver gthumb
and the only thing I can do is opening a menu list, without selecting the menu item
It has been happening since about one or two years ago, there was a time when I could use gthumb from remote
