[gthumb-list] gThumb not showing full images over gvfs

gThumb does not show full images over gvfs (or at least from sftp
shares mounted using gvfs). Thumbinals are displayed correctly. This
problem occurred after upgrading to Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick) from
Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid), it worked fine on Lucid for me but seems to have
hit others on Lucid http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1441207

Is there a fix or a workaround? Other than using sshfs instead of
gvfs? Or maybe it's just a matter of configuration/dependencies? How
should I debug it further?
