Thanks, Roalt! We should make a live.gnome.org page for this sort of 
thing, I guess (like I do with http://live.gnome.org/moserial).

On Fedora 11 x86_64, I use:

./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr CFLAGS="-ggdb" --libdir '/usr/lib64' --build 
x86_64

Otherwise, libgthumb can end up in the wrong place.
