Hi Morten,
I also noticed that the newton iterations converge a lot more quickly than the Rosenbrock iterations, at least in some circumstances.
Would it be possible to make an option for the algorithm which is chosen?

The external solvers (for linear models) might, but the internal
non-linear solver will not.
For the non-linear solver the initial guess can be very important
in terms on the time is takes to solve.
