Don't know which plugin you refer to.
For example, there's several plugin's with
whose title's suggest linear programming:
GLPK Linear Program Solver interface
LPSolve Linear Program Solver interface
Linear and integer program expression format (MPS) module
Under Tools, there's:
Solver...
and under that there's, under Model tab:
Algorithm: GLPK or LPSolve
So, where does:
Linear and integer program expression format (MPS) module
appear? IOW, there needs to be some documentaion of
how to invoke these plugin's.

This is a file format that gnumeric can open. The service description
starts with "File opener" (look at the Plugin description folder).
OK, but the "Plugin Details" tab for another plugin:
Component :Gnumeric
has:
Description ID
-----------------------
Plugin services |
Component Engine | GOGnmComponent
Component Type | GOCnmComponent
and that table tells me nothing about how to use
the plugin or what functions or in that plugin.
Now, I could resort to looking in the bottom section
of the "Plugin List" tab, but that just shows
Spreadsheets
Is that the category of the plugin? IOW, to find the
functions in this plugin, I'd select the function icon,
f(x), at the top toolbar and look for "Component :Genumeric".
OOP, it's not there; hence, I've no idea what that plugin
does :(
It would be nice to have some easily inferred way to
find out what a plugin does. Maybe a URL link in the
"Plugin List" tab when the Plugin is selected?
I found my issue - Times Series
Analysis - under Function Reference but the in-program help function is
interminably slow to load (well over a minute to load the Time Series
Functions documentation is much more rapidly loaded from the web site at
http://projects.gnome.org/gnumeric/functions.shtml
May be we should avoid using yelp?
Sounds good to me, at least until yelp solves their speed or memory
problem.
